Plansight alternatives for benefits brokers

Plansight does the job well: it reads carrier proposals in whatever format they arrive, normalizes them into side-by-side comparisons, builds presentations and offers unlimited scenario modeling. What sends brokers looking elsewhere is how it is bought. It is sold to mid-size and large brokerages through a sales process, its references are national firms, and its site describes the product and customers but not a price, a self-serve plan or a free tier. A solo producer or a ten-person agency usually wants a number and a login. Planlined is one of the five options below; the others are described from their own public pages.

What to look for instead

Keep the part of Plansight that works — document-first parsing and a normalized comparison you can review against the source page — and change the part that does not fit: the buying process. That means a published price you can check before a call, a self-serve start on a real case, and, ideally, the rest of the deliverable from the same data: contribution modeling, the proposal book, the employee guide and invoice reconciliation.

Planlined

Planlined parses carrier PDFs and spreadsheets — quotes, SBCs, rate sheets and invoices — with no cap on documents per case, into a side-by-side comparison across unlimited carriers, with contribution modeling, a scenario manager, invoice reconciliation, plan and case libraries, and branded proposal-book and employee-guide exports. It is the same document-first workflow as Plansight, sold the other way: the first proposal is free with no card, then $75 a month or $62 a month billed annually, with Enterprise custom for teams that want SSO, audit logs and an account manager. See the full Planlined vs Plansight comparison.

QuoteMap

QuoteMap uploads up to eight carrier PDFs or spreadsheets per case, extracts 26 fields per plan, applies employer contribution per tier, and produces proposals and benefit guides. It suits small and mid-size brokerages that prefer per-seat pricing. Pricing is published: $100, $200 and $350 per seat a month, with three free runs to start. See the Planlined vs QuoteMap comparison.

PerfectQuote

PerfectQuote pairs RFP workflows to carriers with a Proposal Reader that parses carrier proposals and SBCs across 400+ formats into instant plan comparisons and a customized spreadsheet presentation. It publishes pricing — ACA $141, ACA+ $217 and Flagship $272 per user a month on a two-year agreement, two-user minimum — but there is no free trial or self-serve setup, and new agencies go through four to five weeks of onboarding. It is the closest thing to Plansight for general agents and brokers with heavy RFP volume who want a published contract price. See the Planlined vs PerfectQuote comparison.

Outmarket AI

Outmarket AI is a broker-wide AI platform for commercial lines and employee benefits. Its benefits product compares plan documents from up to ten carriers with a census, runs contribution-split scenarios and affordability calculations, reconciles carrier bills against enrollment, and integrates with AMS360, Applied Epic, HawkSoft and Nexsure. Like Plansight it is sold by demo with no published price, so it is an alternative on scope rather than on buying process — the fit is a P&C-led agency that wants one platform across both lines. See the Planlined vs Outmarket AI comparison.

BenSuite

BenSuite is an all-in-one broker platform — CRM, quoting, renewals, commissions and enrollment — where BenBuilder AI turns an uploaded carrier quote PDF into a side-by-side spreadsheet shareable by branded link or PDF. It suits agencies that want to consolidate several systems rather than only replace the comparison step. Pricing is published: $99 per agency user a month, or $84 a month billed annually, with a 30-day free trial and no credit card required. See the Planlined vs BenSuite comparison.

How to choose

  • Brokerage size. A national firm that wants an enterprise contract, onboarding and a named account team is Plansight's buyer, and PerfectQuote's. A solo producer or small agency is better served by Planlined, QuoteMap or BenSuite, all of which publish a price and start self-serve.
  • What the deliverable is. If the presentation is the whole job, Plansight and PerfectQuote are strong. If the employee guide, contribution scenarios and invoice reconciliation need to come from the same reviewed case, Planlined covers all three; QuoteMap covers the guide; Outmarket AI covers reconciliation.
  • Documents per case. QuoteMap caps a case at eight documents and Outmarket AI at ten carriers. Planlined does not cap either, which matters for large-group renewals with many ancillary lines.
