About Planlined, formerly BART

Planlined, formerly BART, is benefit analysis software that takes whatever a carrier sends a broker (PDFs, spreadsheets, quotes, invoices) and turns it into one comparison table, a designed proposal book, and an employee-facing enrollment guide.

Why Planlined exists

Brokers spend renewal season re-keying carrier quotes into spreadsheets, rebuilding the same comparison decks, and reconciling invoices by hand. Planlined exists to remove that re-keying: parse the documents once, keep plans and cases in a library, model contributions and what-if scenarios, and export branded deliverables from the same data.

Who Planlined is for

Employee-benefits brokers, brokerages and agency teams working the US group market: small group, large group, level-funded and PEO. Medical, dental, vision, life, disability and payroll lines are all handled in one case.

What Planlined reads and produces

Brokers upload carrier quotes, SBCs, rate sheets, invoices and renewal packets as PDF, Excel, CSV, Word, PowerPoint or image files. Purpose-built readers handle named carriers, PEOs and payroll platforms, and a general reader handles everything else, with every extracted value shown beside the page it came from. Out of the same case come a proposal book in PDF and Excel, invoice reconciliation, a live in-app presentation, an employee benefit guide as a PDF and a hosted link, and case data as JSON, CSV or through the REST API. What Planlined is not

Planlined is not a quoting engine with carrier rate feeds, not a benefits administration or enrollment system, and not a CRM. It works from the quotes a broker already has and produces the proposal and the enrollment guide. The one-page summary of those facts, including pricing, is Planlined product facts.

How client data is handled

Census files and carrier quotes carry sensitive employee and pricing information. Where that data is stored and encrypted, how documents are parsed, how sign-in works, and where Planlined stands on SOC 2 are set out plainly on the security and data handling page. How our guides are written

Product guides are written by the Planlined team against the shipped product, with screenshots from the live app.
Industry explainers (level-funded plans, ERISA, ACA affordability, PEO comparisons) start from the questions brokers bring to us and are checked against the primary regulations and carrier documents they cite.
Every article carries a visible publish date and is revised when the product or the rules change.
We do not publish content we would not hand to a client ourselves.
